Using a found diary form a California woman who lived during the years of WWII, a few year's worth of weekly entries have been transcribed and made into small booklets, the covers of which are images taken form vintage postcards of the area and time. Piano-hinge bound onto bamboo sticks. each booklet contains inside a small map of the area she lived, a guide to the people mentioned and a Dymo label showing the week's date. The booklets sat on a table very much like those found in houses in the 1970's set up for card playing, complete with vintage folding chairs. The table top had a cover of felt that has a pocket holding talcum powder, so that when the booklets were handled created a nostalgic scent. The daily entries in the diary are simple, almost boring, and were all ended with the same incorrectly spelled phrase "bed, bath & goodnite", The writer treated monumental events with the same brevity as she gave picking up oranges at the market. At first this seemed disappointing, but after a while, her acknowledging the small events of each day seemed to magnify the daily events we take for granted or ignore. She elevated the quotidian moments of life.
